The base construction tends to be a loose tube design with a layer of steel wire sandwiched in between two robust cable jackets. SWA cables  provide exceptional rodent protection as well as improved crush and tensile strength compared to CST cables. SWA cables are available with sheath properties suitable for petro-chemical, marine, fire retardant and fire resistant installations.
