Corrugated Steel Tape (CST) or Steel Tape Armoured (STA) is an excellent choice where added mechanical protection is required. Based on a Loose Tube cable construction, an added layer of steel tape surrounds the e-glass/aramid yarn and then covered with the outer jacket. The CST armouring provides a far superior rodent resistance than loose tube and tight buffered cable plus improved crush resistance and tensile loads while still remaining relatively slim in design. With their CPR rated jackets there is still the option to bring the cable directly indoors as well as outdoors, for duct or direct burial.
